About our Hospital:
Originally built in 1979, Kawartha Animal Hospital has been taking care of your pets’ needs for over 40 years, and we hope to continue to do so for decades to come!
We strive to stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine, and are proud to offer a number of services to promote and maintain happiness and good health for your pets. We have a modern dental suite with digital X-Ray capability, which allows us to perform preventive and corrective dental procedures in-house.
We recently updated our laboratory equipment which also allows us to run various blood and urine tests at the hospital, giving almost immediate results. More complex tests are sent out to a third party laboratory for analysis.
In 2022 we replaced our therapy laser with a newer model. Laser therapy is used to treat musculoskeletal injuries, post surgical therapy, which promotes faster healing, and is used to treat arthritis.
Most recently, we have added a Cryoprobe, which is a small cryosurgery instrument, used to treat benign skin lesion. The Cryoprobe is quick, accurate, effective, and most importantly for our furry friend, painless. Cryosurgery doesn’t require anaesthetic, and can remove a number of benign lesions or tumours, often in seconds.
