We have a lot of news…

By April 12, 2018 Blog

(Lilee, Pumpkin and Finn Oliver are exhausted from watching everyone work hard.)

Wow! With extending dental month to March, we have been quite busy and as a result missed sending out a regular newsletter during this time.  We also got voted the favorite veterinarian for the fourth year in a row in the Kawartha Lakes Readers Choice awards. We are so thrilled that our wonderful community and our clients (extended family) appreciate the work that we do.  We are very fortunate to be recognized in this way and to tell the truth it helps tremendously when we need a pick me up! Thank you so much for continuing to recognize us in this way!

Our dental months were very successful.  We performed many complimentary dental examinations by our RVT’s, 24 Ultrasonic cleaning and polishing procedures and unfortunately had to extract multiple teeth.  It is very satisfying to provide this service to you and your pets.  It makes your pets healthier and their kisses more pleasant.  No one likes bad pet breath.

This spring we replaced our peeling steel roof.  It caused some noise for a couple of days and the parking lot was very busy, but we hope that you like the look.  When someone thought that we had had eggs thrown on our roof last fall (because the paint was peeling AGAIN) we knew we had to do something. 🙂

Our Kawartha Animal Hospital Family is going to be growing a lot in 2018!  Starting in May, Dr. Lindsay Prior will be the first of two to be taking maternity leave, followed by Dr. Erin Bond in August.  We are searching near and far to find the perfect replacements for these wonderful professionals. Don’t worry… they will all be back soon! Be sure to congratulate each one of them when you are in the hospital next.  We will keep everyone updated on the staff changes.

Lastly, but most importantly, Deb Deschamps will be saying good bye in the next month or so as soon as her replacement is ready.  Deb has had some physical challenges in the last couple of years and it is time for her to enjoy retirement. Unfortunately we do not have a full time puppy and kitten kissing position to offer her at this time!  She has been a wonderfully loyal employee since joining the hospital at the same time as Dr. Rick in 2003.  Deb has been so fantastic in her role here due to her love of animals, her great people skills and the fact that she knows EVERYBODY!
